The Ritual of Extraction

The Art of Pure Brewing

Awakening whole botanicals through heat, time, and transparency.

Brewing coarse-cut botanicals is fundamentally different from steeping powdered teabags. Intact calyces and dense roots require space to expand and time to release their deep-seated phytonutrients. We invite you to brew slowly and consciously.

The Glass Standard

Whenever possible, brew in clear borosilicate glass or glazed ceramic. Watching whole dried flowers rehydrate and observing the liquor shift from amber to ruby or sapphire is an integral half of the sensory ritual.

Protocol I

Delicate Blossom & Leaf Infusion

Temperature 88°C – 92°C
Steep Time 5 to 7 Minutes

Suited for: Glow & Flow, Deep Flow, Pure Avarampoo, Tulsi Blends

Delicate flower petals and aromatic herbs should not be subjected to rolling boils, which can scorch fragile notes. Allow freshly boiled water to rest for 60 seconds before pouring.

  1. Add 1 to 1.5 tablespoons (approx. 3–4g) per 250ml of fresh spring water.
  2. Cover the vessel immediately to capture rising volatile essential oils.
  3. Strain gently without pressing the leaves. Re-steep once for a lighter secondary cup.
Protocol II

Dense Bark & Root Extraction

Temperature 95°C – 100°C
Steep Time 8 to 10 Minutes

Suited for: HeartiZen, Nannari Root, Licorice, GI Josh

Botanicals like Arjuna bark, dried sarsparilla root, and cracked spices require sustained heat to draw out deep-seated resins and tannins.

  1. Pour water directly off the rolling boil over the coarse botanicals.
  2. Keep tightly covered for a minimum of 8 minutes.
  3. These hearty botanicals reward longer extractions without turning unpleasantly bitter.
Protocol III

The Traditional Kashayam Simmer

Method Stovetop Simmer
Duration 5–7 Mins Reduction

Suited for: Sukku Kashayam, Spiced Winter Decoctions

A heritage South Indian simmer technique designed to concentrate fiery gingerols and aromatic spices into a deeply warming hearth drink.

  1. Add 1 tablespoon of spice coarse-cut to 300ml of cold water in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a gentle boil, then lower heat and simmer until reduced by roughly one-third.
  3. Optionally sweeten with raw palm jaggery or wildflower honey while warm.
